The Vision

The Stand UMC is a new faith community made up of people that seek to live out the ways of Jesus.  Our goal is to be real and relevant, not isolated from the world.  We want to “stand” for something with purpose.  We are not a church that just sits around.  We seek to make a difference in the world around us.

Jesus was about turning the world right side up.  We’re looking for those who feel that things (life, family, work, society, and yes, the church) need to be turned around in some way and pointed in a purposeful direction.

Why, “The Stand?”  Basically, because it’s biblical and makes sense.  Check out Ephesians 6:10-15 in the Bible to make some sense of “standing” or join us to learn more.

What are we? We are a new community of faith started by the United Methodist Church in the Fort Lee/Prince George/Tri-Cities, Virginia area.  We welcome your interest and prayers.  If you would like to know more, check us out on Facebook by clicking here or comment in the section below to contact our pastor, Rev. Gina Anderson-Cloud.

When Pastor Gina is not climbing a tree with her family, she’ll get back to you.  Seriously!  Feel free to contact her or phone at:  804-722-1570.

Who is The Stand’s pastor? Gina is a mom of three kids (one middle schooler and two elementary school agers), the wife of a pastor, and an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church who has a passion for God and a heart for people.  She is a trained church planter, which is a pastor assigned to start new ministry through the church.  She loves to talk about God and see God at work in the world.  In her free time, she enjoys time with family, friends and pets (dogs, Marley & Avee and cat, October) and loves to hike, especially in the mountains.
